GE Vernova’s Grid Solutions business, together with Polish contractor Polimex Mostostal, received a key contract to build the onshore grid connection infrastructure for Baltica 2. Announced on 25 January 2024, the consortium will construct a 275/400 kV high-voltage substation and associated onshore export lines that will feed power from the offshore wind farm into Poland’s transmission system. GE Vernova will supply technology including GIS, transformers and STATCOMs, while Polimex Mostostal will deliver civil works, equipment installation and cable laying.
