On 7 April 2021, the Polish Energy Regulatory Office (ERO) awarded a Contract for Difference (CfD) to the Baltica Offshore Wind Farm, covering both the Baltica 2 and Baltica 3 phases with a combined capacity of up to 2.5 GW. This decision confirms the projects’ eligibility for Poland’s Offshore Wind Promotion Act Phase I support mechanism, granting the right to receive CfD support at the maximum strike price level. The award represents the regulatory confirmation (Art. 16-type decision) that Baltica 2 qualifies for the CfD scheme, a key revenue underpinning for the 1.5 GW project jointly developed by Ørsted and PGE. The CfD award is subject to final approval by the European Commission.
