Commissioning of the four offshore substations for Baltica 2 is projected to complete by end-2027. The OSS commissioning year is inferred from the project-level commissioning anchor in Ørsted's 11 May 2026 press release, which states that "Baltica 2 is expected to be fully commissioned by the end of 2027". Because OSS commissioning is electrically upstream of first power, and PGE CEO Dariusz Lubera's statement in the same press release indicates first electricity within ~one year of the 11 May 2026 foundation-installation start (i.e. ~H1 2027), the four substations must be commissioned no later than H1 2027 to enable that schedule, with full operational handover by the end-2027 COD. The four ~375 MW OSS units (107 turbines aggregated across four substations) are being built by the Semco Maritime + PTSC Mechanical & Construction consortium; OSS topside installation begins in 2026 per the Feb 2026 baltica.energy update, with electrical outfitting, testing and energisation following. The specific calendar quarter within 2027 is not pinned by current developer disclosures, so year-precision is used.
