On 11 May 2026, Ørsted and PGE started full‑scale offshore construction on the 1.5 GW Baltica 2 offshore wind project in the Polish Baltic Sea. The developers announced that offshore works had moved beyond preparatory phases into the main construction campaign at the project site, located about 40 km off Ustka. This phase includes installation of 111 monopiles for 107 turbines and four offshore substations, carried out by Van Oord using its installation vessels. The start of offshore construction marks a key transition for Baltica 2 from development and seabed preparation into large‑scale installation activities required to bring Poland’s largest offshore wind farm online by 2027.
