In February 2024, Ørsted and PGE signed an installation contract with Van Oord for Baltica 2’s foundations. Van Oord will transport and install 111 monopiles at the offshore site, of which 107 will support wind turbines and four will serve as foundations for offshore substations. The company plans to deploy its installation vessel Aeolus and heavy-lift vessel Svanen to execute the campaign in the Polish sector of the Baltic Sea.
