In January 2020, the Baltica Offshore Wind Farm – comprising the Baltica 2 and Baltica 3 phases – obtained its key environmental decision (DŚU) for development. Issued by the Regional Directorate for Environmental Protection in Gdańsk (RDOŚ Gdańsk), this decision approved the environmental conditions for constructing and operating the offshore wind farms in the Polish part of the Baltic Sea. The decision is a prerequisite for later building permits and revenue support and allowed Ørsted and PGE to move from development into detailed design and permitting for what will become Poland’s largest offshore wind complex.
