The environmental impact assessment for the offshore wind farm area covering Baltica 2 and Baltica 3 received its environmental decision (DŚU) in 2020. This decision, issued by the competent regional environmental authority (RDOŚ Gdańsk) under Poland’s EIA legislation, set the binding environmental conditions for constructing and operating the two-phase Baltica Offshore Wind Farm in the Polish Baltic Sea between Łeba and Ustka. The DŚU is a prerequisite for subsequent construction and building permits and confirmed that, subject to compliance with its conditions, the combined project of up to 2.5 GW could proceed. For Baltica 2, this decision provided the core environmental approval for its 1.5 GW offshore wind farm, including turbines and associated offshore infrastructure, enabling later steps such as detailed design, permitting, and financing.
