Ahead of issuing the environmental decision for Baltica 1 in October 2025, PGE Baltica completed comprehensive marine environmental studies for the project area. The work analysed seabed geological structure, physicochemical parameters of seawater and sediments, and the occurrence of marine organisms, including benthic plants and animals, fish, birds and marine mammals such as bats. The studies, carried out by a consortium including Gdynia Maritime University and MEWO, provided the environmental baseline needed to minimise impacts during construction and long‑term operation and directly supported the Regional Director for Environmental Protection in Gdańsk in issuing the environmental conditions decision for the Baltica 1 offshore wind farm on 17 October 2025.
