In 2024, PGE Baltica advanced site investigations for the Baltica 1 offshore wind farm by commissioning a package of geotechnical and geological services. During the year, the company began subsoil investigations for the onshore part of the project, signed a contract for preliminary geotechnical studies of the offshore seabed and geological studies for land–sea drilling, and selected a geotechnical and structural designer for the subsoil exploration stage and along the planned export cable route. These contracted works will provide the data and engineering input required to define suitable foundation and cable solutions and to plan the technically feasible and environmentally compliant export corridor for evacuating power from Baltica 1 to shore.
