On 16 April 2012, the Polish Minister of Transport, Construction and Maritime Economy issued the key seabed location permit for the Baltica 1 offshore wind farm area. The decision defines an area of 108.19 km² in Poland’s Exclusive Economic Zone, east of the Central Bank shoal and around 75 km north of the coast near Smołdzino and Łeba. This permit, which authorises the construction and use of artificial islands, structures and devices for the Baltica 1 project, functions as the core seabed-rights instrument underpinning further development, including later environmental, geotechnical and design activities. The decision was subsequently amended in 2021, but the original permit date in 2012 marks the execution of seabed rights for Baltica 1.
