On 1 February 2021, PGE’s project company Elektrownia Wiatrowa Baltica-1 signed a transmission grid connection agreement with Polskie Sieci Elektroenergetyczne (PSE) for the Baltica 1 offshore wind farm, with an installed capacity of up to 896 MW. The agreement defines the terms for connecting the project, located more than 79 kilometres offshore near Łeba, to the national 400 kV transmission network via a new substation. This contract closes the formal preparations for power evacuation from PGE’s initial three offshore wind projects and significantly reduces technical and business risk for Baltica 1 by securing firm grid access for the planned post-2030 commissioning.
