On 17 October 2025, the Regional Director for Environmental Protection in Gdańsk issued the Decyzja o środowiskowych uwarunkowaniach (environmental decision, DŚU) for the Morska Farma Wiatrowa Baltica‑1 offshore wind project. The decision, currently non-final, covers the construction, operation and decommissioning of a wind farm of up to 900 MW, comprising 36–60 turbines rated 15–25 MW each, plus up to four offshore substations and around 140 km of internal array cables. The project area lies in Poland’s Exclusive Economic Zone east of Ławica Środkowa, about 75 km north of the coast near the Smołdzino and Łeba municipalities. Securing the DŚU is a key permitting milestone enabling Baltica 1 to proceed towards building permits and participation in offshore wind CfD auctions.
