On 17 October 2024, the French government adopted an updated strategic maritime facade decision that formally identified the Golfe du Lion Centre (GLC, 400 km²) as a priority zone within ten years for an industrial floating offshore wind project of about 2 GW, alongside Golfe du Lion Est and Ouest, forming the spatial basis for the AO10 Méditerranée Golfe du Lion development.
