CESI S.p.A. (Centro Elettrotecnico Sperimentale Italiano), through its KEMA Labs HVDC test facilities in Italy, provides third-party technical auditing and validation of system tests for the HVDC components of Terna's Adriatic Link interconnector between the Marche and Abruzzo regions. The scope covers independent verification of factory and pre-installation testing on the bipolar 500 kV HVDC cable system manufactured by Prysmian Group, and on the two 1 GW VSC converter stations being delivered by the Siemens Energy / Fata S.p.A. consortium at Fano and Cepagatti, supporting Terna's project-wide assurance and component qualification programme. The role is documented in the Cantiere in Rete construction-platform portfolio entry for the Adriatic Link project, which lists CESI alongside the principal contractors (Prysmian, Fata) as the technical-auditing partner for HVDC component system tests. As Italy's national HVDC type-testing and owner's-engineering specialist, CESI's involvement provides Terna with independent assurance over the qualification, type-testing and acceptance of the project's HVDC primary equipment ahead of energisation. No contract value, contract date, or further commercial terms have been publicly disclosed for the CESI scope on Adriatic Link.
