NextEra Energy, Inc. (NYSE: NEE) is a Fortune 200 electric power and energy infrastructure company headquartered in Juno Beach, Florida. Through Florida Power & Light Company it provides reliable electricity to approximately 12 million people across Florida, and through NextEra Energy Resources, LLC owns the largest energy infrastructure development business in the United States, with a diverse generation mix spanning natural gas, nuclear, renewable energy and battery storage. On 18 May 2026 NextEra Energy and Dominion Energy announced a definitive all-stock agreement under which NextEra will acquire Dominion (exchange ratio 0.8138 NEE shares per Dominion share, plus a one-time $360 million cash payment at close). The combined company will operate under the NextEra Energy name and trade on the NYSE under the ticker NEE. Pro-forma ownership: NextEra shareholders approximately 74.5%, Dominion shareholders approximately 25.5%. Close is expected in 12-18 months, subject to Hart-Scott-Rodino Act, FERC, NRC and state PSC approvals plus shareholder votes.
